Joellyn Thompson, MS, CCC-SLP
Joellyn Thompson, MS, CCC-SLP received her BA in Psychology from
Berry College and her MS in Speech Pathology from East Tennessee State
University. She began her career providing play based feeding therapy and
early speech/language intervention services in clinical and home settings
first in Virginia and then in Florida. In 2014, she moved to Georgia and
began working as a speech-language pathologist (SLP) in Dekalb County
Schools at Coralwood School. At Coralwood, Joellyn provides speech,
language, voice, and fluency evaluations and therapy for qualifying
students. Joellyn has a passion for working with children with Autism and
children with multi-sensory needs, while helping children learn their best
way to communicate. Annually, she organizes and provides training to staff
and teachers on “AAC in the Classroom” and “Best Practices with AAC.” In
addition to being an SLP at Coralwood, Joellyn is a certified Zumba
Instructor. She supports the health and wellness of teachers and staff at
Coralwood by providing weekly Zumba fitness classes after school.
