Coralwood School is the only public school in DeKalb County dedicated to serving children with and without special needs between three and six years of age. Our research-based educational model includes 12 collaborative and co-taught (inclusion) classrooms in which six  children with special needs and ten to fourteen typically developing children are educated together.

The classrooms at Coralwood are led by highly specialized teachers and paraprofessionals who teach to a broad set of students with varied needs. Our preschool and PreK students learn through play. The GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards) curriculum is developmentally appropriate for these young children. Our Kindergarten students follow the statewide GSE (Georgia Standards of Excellence) curriculum. Children learn from each other at Coralwood and each child’s unique gifts are celebrated.
